September School Counseling Lessons

Picture
Welcome back! In the month of September I visited classes to explain the role of the school counselor and how students can see me. 2nd grade students learned steps they can take when someone is "bugging" them. 3rd grade students learned the difference between small and big problems. 4th grade students began part 1 of a 2 part series on how to handle insults and put downs. 5th grade students learned about how to be students who include and not exclude. 5th grade students also identified ways they can work to include others and how to identify if they are excluding others.

Kindergarten students learned all about their school counselor's "Bag of Tricks"!
1st grade students learned reasons why they might visit their school counselor and all about confidentiality.
Students learned about my Highlighting Virtuous Behaviors Board and how to celebrate peers showing virtuous behaviors.
2nd grade students met Buzz the Bee, and learned strategies they can use when feeling "bugged."
Check out what Buzz does when he's feeling bugged!
3rd grade learned the difference between small problems and big problems.
4th grade students learned Simon's Hook strategies when faced with teases and put downs.
5th grade students learned how they can include others and not exclude.
Parents, be sure to check out the Home Connection letters that are sent home after every lesson!
